20.3 Release Highlights: Post-Deployment Workflows

The software development life cycle doesn’t stop at development. Many low-code options today provide tools to accelerate application development. However, they do little to help developers deploy or maintain applications.
Appian recognized these issues years ago and have worked to build a platform that delivers the value of low-code throughout the entire application lifecycle. During this time, platform developers have enjoyed features like: integrated unit testing, automated testing for expressions, security summary reports, conflict detection for deployments, a one-click deployment wizard, and more.
20.3 introduces a powerful feature to support application deployments: post-deployment workflows. Anytime an application is deployed to another environment, developers can choose to run a custom process after deployment. This process could include executing additional tests, assigning work related to users or groups to the deployment, executing processes within your CI/CD pipeline, or anything else needed within your organization.
By simplifying the complicated duties of software releases, post-deployment workflows are the epitome of low-code deployments. But it’s not the only feature in 20.3 to support better deployments. Developers will appreciate better visibility around unused objects, executing stored procedures during deployment, and more.
