NA Data Privacy (CCPA, CASL, PIPEDA)

Ensure compliance with consumer privacy regulations.

Consumer privacy legislation in the US is a moving target. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), is set to take effect in January 2020. However, on May 22, 2019, the insurance assembly approved CCPA Amendment AB 981, which, if approved in its current form, includes changes that will incorporate the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (“IIPPA”) to avoid overlap with CCPA. Currently, nine other states have adopted similar consumer privacy regulations, which have the potential to differ based on their legislature.

With Appian, insurers can manage CCPA and other privacy regulations with the flexibility to quickly and easily make changes as regulations evolve – enabling P&C, Life, and Reinsurance organizations to maintain compliance.
