Use BPM software to manage your social presence

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram and a host of other, lesser known social networks all provide various benefits for businesses looking to connect with their consumers and optimize their online presence beyond a basic website. However, there are a variety of nuances that have to be mastered when considering how to best utilize these tools within the enterprise setting, and one of the most important is knowing when to post on them.

According to Business 2 Community, there are clear time frames when businesses should and shouldn't post in order to maximize their reach. Unsurprisingly, many of the social networks aren't very useful during the night, but the optimal time to post on Facebook differs greatly from Google+, and companies need to know when to vary their posting. For Facebook, the best time to post is Wednesday at 3 in the afternoon, but any time between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. is good as well. However, firms should avoid post on weekends and after 4 p.m. as that is when the traffic to the site begins to waver.

Twitter has a similar schedule to Facebook, though the peak time to post is an hour shorter from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and people sign onto the service later in the day. LinkedIn on the other hand is busier in the morning and evening, before and after the workday, and is more popular from Tuesday to Thursday. However, posting too early or too late in the day will miss key traffic.

Google+ has a more unusual schedule, being most popular between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., but the traffic to the site is almost non-existent after 5 p.m. Pinterest may have the oddest key times of all, with the best time to post content being between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., as well as 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. The site dies off in the afternoon, but is incredibly popular on Saturday mornings, according to the news source.

For most companies, managing all of these schedules can be a pain, but with a high-quality social BPM solution, firms can optimize their online presence and ensure they are reaching their target audiences when best. Social business process management software from Appian provides companies with prioritized automation of these resources and helps make sure that opportunities aren't missed on any social network.
