DIA Chicago Highlights

Evi Cohen, Vice President, Global Life Sciences & Healthcare, Appian
June 30, 2017

We had the pleasure of spending an amazing week at DIA's annual meeting in Chicago last week. With more than 7,000 global healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals gathered from more than 51 countries, the event was buzzing with excitement surrounding the current state of the industry. Discussions ranged from the regulatory and economic factors currently impacting the industry to the future scope of pharmaceutical technology, benefiting areas such as clinical research, product development, and patient outcomes.

DIA seemed especially energized this year, with a more collaborative and open approach from all involved. I had several excellent conversations with attendees, discussing what they felt were top priorities and concerns of their pharma organizations. The constant feedback I was hearing was innovation, innovation, innovation. Everyone had an imperative to change their status quo, and move faster, given the looming disruptions on the horizon.

We had many visitors at our booth, interested to see how Appian's innovations are helping their peers in the Life Sciences industry. We offered presentations and demos showcasing our work and that in turn led to great discussion sessions. For a brief description of our work in pharma, take a look at the 5 Ways Appian Drives Life Sciences Transformation.

Our trip to Chicago wasn't all Life Sciences. We of course had to visit Wrigley field to check out a Cubs game. We hosted around 30 guests to watch the Cubs beat the Braves 4-0. It was such a fun event and a great game!

Overall, DIA was a huge success. I had so many engaging conversations about the industry, and the exciting developments that are coming for Life Sciences. If you were unable to attend the conference, or would like to learn more, please contact us. We would love to share more about how Appian is helping to improve Life Sciences across the product lifecycle.
