Appian Opens Doors to Expanded U.S. Headquarters
Appian is on to bigger and better things!
That’s the exciting news this week as we opened an expanded U.S. headquarters office in Reston, Virginia. The new location provides an additional 55,464 square-feet of office space to accommodate Appian’s continued growth across all departments.
In 2013, Appian hired more than 150 new employees. The company is on pace to exceed that number for 2014, having already hired more than 80 new employees this year. The expanded growth is increasingly important in our efforts the ramp up Professional Services, Engineering and Sales teams in response to the global demand of Appian’s unique Work Platform capabilities. We even have an entire floor dedicating to the Engineering and Technology development staff.
And yes, the Rubik’s cube sign successfully made the move as well.
Though this is Appian’s biggest move to date, it’s just one example of our recent global expansion. Over the course of the past year, Appian regional offices have opened or expanded in London, France, Germany and Switzerland, in addition to continued success in the Asia-Pacific region.
As Appian gets ready to celebrate its 15th anniversary, this expansion represents a significant milestone in our company’s history. Whenever a company takes on additional office space, it represents more than just needing a new and improved place to conduct business. For us, it represents a step closer to fulfilling our vision which has always been to solve the business challenges facing organizations and large groups acting towards a single purpose.
Our CEO Matt Calkins says it perfectly: “Appian has a thriving culture of innovation, transparency, collaboration, and accountability – the same qualities we deliver to our customers through our software. We have designed our new U.S. headquarters to support and reflect these same qualities as well, through things like glass-walled offices, low cubes, sleek design and plenty of communal space.”
From insurance underwriting and claims management to financial services and government contracting, organizations around the world look to Appian for the business transformation needed to establish a more modern and better way to work. Our customers invest their trust in our abilities to deliver the best enterprise solutions possible, and we have a responsibility to attract and retain the best talent to meet their expectations. It’s important that we surround such talent with a work environment and culture that provides every opportunity to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction through a commitment to innovation.
Our Chief Financial Officer Mark Lynch said it best when describing the move. “It’s been fun so far and we are just getting warmed up!”
