Since day one, Appian has been sharply focused on integrating AI features into processes.
Appian processes incorporate native generative AI in partnership with Amazon Bedrock, using Anthropic’s Claude as the foundational LLM. Data remains secure because stateless AI models “forget” information after processing. Plus, data is protected with role-based access: if a user shouldn’t see specific information, Appian AI won’t show it.
Appian offers two main AI capabilities:
AI Skills: AI Skills let you train your own AI models to do specific tasks or build generative AI prompts. You can use pre-formatted generative AI prompts or create your own. With the ability to create free-form prompts, you can do nearly anything with AI—from generating email responses to creating full, outcome-based AI agents.
AI Copilot: We also offer the Appian AI Copilot, an assistant for developers and business users. Developers can use AI Copilot to generate test data or automatically create unit tests. Business users can query AI Copilot to generate answers based on their business data or use it to search business documents.
