The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), headquartered in White Plains, NY, with 66 chapters in the United States and Canada, is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. The Society’s mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $486 million in research specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
LLS realized the need for BPM to help streamline and automate its entire application process to better serve its constituents and reduce operating costs, something it was not able to do with its previous paper-based system. LLS also needed automation and efficiency in documenting, controlling, and reporting on business processes.
Appian BPM Solution
Appian helped LLS increase operational efficiencies by implementing and managing structured procedures to support its application processes. Using Appian, LLS can more effectively respond to applicant queries and address its constituents’ needs. As the only BPM solution to address both application and human interactions, Appian Enterprise enabled LLS to structure applicant processes, as well as the guidelines for handling and evaluating all applications, delivering a uniform system for delivering benefits.
