With more than 800 production sites, Lehigh Hanson serves as one of North America’s largest suppliers of cement and construction material. On a global level, Lehigh Hanson is a major member of the Heidelberg Cement Group, one of the world’s largest providers of cement and aggregate materials.
Due to a pen and paper invoice system, invoice short payment issues were becoming a commonplace scenario. Large volumes of invoices were returned every month, which had a considerable impact on revenue. Lehigh Hanson expended a substantial amount of time and resources trying to resolve each invoice issue on a case-by-case and highly-manual basis.
Appian BPM Solution
Utilizing the Appian platform in the cloud, Lehigh Hanson built an automated Deductions Management solution. After a rapid six week deployment, the company had increased visibility into, and real-time management over, each short payment case. Through automated exception management, the company was able to drastically reduce the time and effort required to resolve invoice disputes, generating a significant positive impact on its bottom line. Based on the success of the deployment, and Appian’s extreme ease of use, Lehigh Hanson management is now expanding its use of Appian into other areas of the company.
