General Kinematics looked to BPM to optimize its contract to cash process. The existing system suffered breakdowns that resulted in loss of time and costly duplication of engineering and manufacturing resources, inaccurate contracts, incorrect billings, delivery delays, and potential customer dissatisfaction.
General Kinematics decided to redesign the cross-functional processes, beginning with the sales management and order process all the way through to Accounts Receivable processes. The company recognized the need to redraft a number of business rules and policies, and to establish the means to routinely enforce these policies.
