Archant’s processes for initiating an advertisement, approving images and content, and sending final ads to production for publishing were excessively manual and often paper-based. The company’s existing systems prevented the production and advertising side of Archant’s business from being nimble enough in collaborating with customers to produce high-quality content within strict production deadlines. The company sought a new solution to help increase agility, reduce errors, and deliver higher-quality customer service.

Appian Solution

Archant addressed its business challenges by creating the AdFlow solution within Appian. AdFlow leverages Appian process automation and an intuitive user interface to remove repetitive tasks, reduce dependency on paper workflows, and improve engagement with both internal and external customers. AdFlow allows Archant employees to manage provisions and transaction history of advertising copy through dynamic case management capabilities.

Appian’s Application Platform has enabled Archant to improve overall quality of advertisement fulfillment services for both internal users and customers and within their HR department. By Leveraging AdFlow’s automated approval processes and electronic customer recordings, the organization has experienced a ten-fold reduction in advertisement production errors, resulting in over £1m ($1.6m+) of overall company cost savings and a 32 percent rise in company output. Appian was utilized to help restructure the Archant organization at a critical time in the company’s vision of moving towards a more digital operation.
