Cloud solutions are altering the way technology leaders think

Innovation isn’t a rare occurrence in the IT industry. Many technology leaders are used to change, be it new hardware or promising software solutions for efficiency. However, few new technologies have altered the overall IT landscape in the same way the cloud has.

According to Wired, these changes are going so far as to make some reconsider the relevance of the CIO and CTO in the modern business. The cloud era allows firms to “essentially outsource that level of corporate responsibility,” in other words making it easier for companies to build up their technology infrastructure efficiently and effectively. This, theoretically, turns CIOs and CTOs into nothing more than buyers and sellers of technology.

However, Wired continued, this isn’t the case. In the cloud era, the CIOs and CTOs become even more important for enterprise IT optimization. These leaders may have to adapt, but their skills and expertise are still essential, even as companies invest in cloud BPM software to automate essential processes.

BPM in particular is of importance in this matter.  CIOs and CTOs are now seeking out the innovations and improvements that will expand those capabilities. This is why many are investing in high-quality process management software – to help them do their jobs more effectively.

The integration of cloud-based BPM software can help optimize workflow so that firms have more resources and time to focus on their in-house work. Cloud solutions provide flexibility and scalability, but sometimes companies have to balance those advantages with other concerns.

For CTOs and CIOs worried about cloud advancements, it is easy to remember that these solutions won’t replace their importance in the business environment, but rather allow them to focus on other critical areas. Optimization of workflow and productivity through investment into cloud BPM solutions focuses operations, but it doesn’t completely replace the function of a technology expert for any business. By utilizing these tools to ease their workloads, IT leaders can focus on growth and help bring their company into the next era of technology smoothly – ensuring not only an increase in efficiency but potential profit gains over time.
