Appian World Keynote: More of a Good Thing
In the past, Appian World keynote speaker sessions have featured some of the best and brightest minds of the times.
Just consider the past three Appian World events and the amazing keynote speakers:
This year is no different.
Well, actually it is…At Appian World this year, we’ll hear from not one, but two incredible luminaries.
For explorer Ben Saunders, it turns out that “impossible” is just an opinion.
Ben reached the pinnacle of polar exploration by leading one of the most ambitious polar expeditions in history. A record-breaking long-distance skier, and one of the world’s leading polar explorers, Ben has achieved remarkable success through intense passion, stubbornness, and a refusal to quit.
It’s worth noting that Ben has five North Pole expeditions under his belt. He is only the third person in history (and the youngest ever) to reach the North Pole alone on foot. He also was the first person to successfully complete the epic, 105-day, 1,800-mile trek on foot, the equivalent of running 69 marathons back-to-back.
A powerful and engaging storyteller, Ben is a three-time TED speaker. He has also won recognition as a “TED Master Story-Teller”. Ben’s Keynote presentation will take attendees to the ends of the Earth and back, as he shares his insights on challenging conventional wisdom, pushing past self-imposed limits, and capitalizing on change.
There’s also best-selling author and educator Marshall Van Alstyne.
Aside from being a Harvard Business Review bestseller, Marshall ranks among the most sought-after experts on platform businesses, and how platform models have revolutionized businesses and turned disruptors into industry leaders.
In his latest book, Platform Revolution: How Networked Markets Are Transforming the Economy—and How to Make Them Work for You, Marshall and his co-authors reveal the what, how, and why of the platform revolution.
Marshall’s work has also been featured in Science, Nature, Wired, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and on NPR. This former entrepreneur, and consultant to global 100 companies received his B.A. from Yale and M.S. and Ph.D. from MIT.
Marshall’s Keynote presentation will focus on the economics of information, the impact on competitive strategy, and give insights into how to stimulate innovation in your business.
Both Marshall and Ben promise to keep attendees engaged with personal accounts of their remarkable success, and insights into what it takes to compete and win in any environment.
