Biomedical Device Manager

Overview

The BioMed Device Management (BDM) application is aimed at helping biomedical technicians and clinical staff identify, track, and resolve non-operational devices. By leveraging Appian's native mobile capabilities, BDM streamlines the data entry and reporting process for broken devices and significantly lowers the reporting timeframe. Additionally, clinical staff don’t have to leave the room to complete the entire process, making it easier for them to report issues in real-time. Once a ticket has been created, dedicated triage and management features allow biomedical technicians to organize, replace, and repair devices. This includes replacement device notifications, warranty tracking, and third party repair information for each device. Streamlining the repair process improves productivity, increases efficiency, and ensures operations are running as smoothly as possible.

BDM also includes extensive reporting to support management's need to improve turnaround times, identify products and brands with higher failure rates, and "lemon" devices that may be skewing results. The real-time nature of the reporting features allows management to have increased visibility and insight into their inventory data and performance.

BDM enables you to improve your device management, streamline the repair process, and better understand your inventory to position your operational needs and requirements.

Key Functionality & Features
  • Mobile optimized input forms for ease of use
  • Simple pathways for resolving device problems with dedicated forms and details for each
  • Inventory management and fault tolerance specific reporting that allows BioMed technicians to monitor inventory levels and highlights areas where replacement devices are no longer available
  • Device and model-specific reporting including failure rates and concentration over a period of time that enabling managers and GPOs to see failure rates and problematic devices for better insight into manufacturer or model specific issues
  • Clear areas for expansion to solve other operational clinical problems including cleaning, suite management, and generic operational requests
