Appian Cloud Receives FedRAMP Authorization
Leading BPM Application Provider Delivers Cloud Platform to Manage and Accelerate Federal Agency Operations
RESTON, Va.—June, 17, 2015— Appian, provider of the leading application platform for Business Process Management (BPM) and Case Management solutions, today announced that Appian Cloud is Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) compliant.
By achieving FedRAMP compliance, Appian Cloud has been deemed a viable solution to provide significant time and cost savings, improved security risk management, and enhanced program transparency for mission-critical federal operations. Appian Cloud had been authorized by the Federal Transit Authority (FTA) as FedRAMP Compliant. Cloud systems listed under the Agency Authorization have worked directly with a customer agency to achieve a FedRAMP compliant ATO that has been verified by the FedRAMP Program Management Office.
“FTA’s authorization of Appian Cloud ensures this offering meets the rigorous requirements of FedRAMP,” said Matt Goodrich, FedRAMP Director at the General Services Administration. “This authorization can be re-used by other Federal agencies to save both time and staff over working with non-FedRAMP systems getting to the heart of FedRAMP’s ‘do once use many times’ framework.”
FedRAMP is a US government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. Being FedRAMP Compliant means a cloud system has an established and highly secure environment that has withstood comprehensive audit review before federal agencies are authorized to engage the system. Primary goals of the FedRAMP program include accelerated adoption of secure cloud solutions through reuse of assessments and authorizations, increased confidence in security risk management as agreed upon standards to be used for cloud product approvals, and increased automation and near real-time data for continuous monitoring.
Appian Cloud is acknowledged by industry analysts as the leading platform for BPM Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Hundreds of commercial and government organizations around the world deploy Appian’s modern application platform in the cloud as an environment for the delivery of applications that accelerate smarter decisions and actions enterprise-wide.
