Appian Boosts Productivity for Customers Through Integration with Microsoft
Leading BPM Provider Develops App to Enhance the Digital Workplace
RESTON, Va. — August 17, 2016— Appian today announced it is integrating the Appian platform with Microsoft enterprise productivity tools and Appian’s first app is available today. The initial app enables users to access and interact with critical components of the Appian platform, such as Tasks, without leaving their Microsoft desktop work environment. For example, an employee can receive an email with an Appian task, launch and execute that task using the power of the Appian Platform, and continue working all via their Microsoft Outlook account within the email’s window.
The app drives workplace productivity by embedding Appian’s process management capabilities directly into the Microsoft Outlook user experience by allowing users to complete Appian tasks directly within the Outlook environment. Appian engineers are working to create more apps that combine the powerful productivity capabilities of Microsoft technologies with the governance, control, and process intelligence provided by Appian. The app is a Microsoft Outlook mailbox add-in that supports Office 365 Online, Outlook 2013 and later for Windows and Outlook 2016 and later for Mac.
Appian plans to further integrate the Appian Platform with key Microsoft technologies and focus areas and is exploring possible combinations of BPM with technologies like artificial intelligence, wearable technology, mobile, and the Internet of Things.
